Standard 2- Instructional Leadership
Principals set high standards for the professional practice of 21st century instruction and assessment that result in a no-nonsense accountable environment. The school executive must be knowledgeable of best instructional and school practices and must use this knowledge to cause the creation of collaborative structures within the school for the design of highly engaging schoolwork for students, the on-going peer review of this work, and the sharing of this work throughout the professional community.

Artifact 1- Flipped Classroom Video
|
On of the activities during the flipped classroom involved creating a 1 minute summary video from the information provided about digital lectures. The video above was added to Lodge McCammon's presentation and has been viewed and retweeted across the United States. This video was also used to model this strategy for teachers in my school.

Artifact 3- Screenshots of Google Classroom Management System
My principal mentor was searching for an efficient way to monitor the submission of lesson plans and PLC minutes. I created a Google Classroom page to facilitate that process for him. Through this system, administrators could monitor the submission of plans, review them and provide timely feedback to teachers. Administrators could also review the happenings within multiple PLCs- both grade level and content specific.
Artifact 4- Benchmark Data Analysis
|
This Google Sheets document was created and shared with teachers after analyzing CASE21 benchmark assessment data. For me, this activity emphasized the lesson of using pertinent student data to make instructional decisions. The advantage I see in using the CASE21 assessment is that the company releases to test items to the schools and teachers can use the actual test items to reteach concepts to students, thus improving results on the next assessment and ultimately on state standardized testing.

Artifact 5- Learning Walk Data
During my residency, i participated in several learning walks the the FMS administrative team. One of the themes stressed in our building is that you "inspect what you expect." We established a list of "look-fors" before performing the walks and collect data to share with group and individual information with staff for improvements in instructional practices. This activity was also helpful for me as I performed walkthroughs on my own.
